HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Yes, I do realize that I'm about 10 days late, but New Year's isn't really a big deal around here. It's hard to keep track.

In any case, I've officially moved back to Jerusalem to begin the "I'm done with college and want to just hang out in Israel for 4 months" part of my trip. Yay! I do plan to be at least slightly productive (I have 4 papers to finish before they'll actually give me the credits I need to graduate, for starters) - my plans include more ulpan, working with the 65+ EIE kids who'll be here next month, possibly finding a babysitting job, and pretty much anything else I can get my hands on.

The last few weeks have been filled with visits - and random encounters - with a whole lot of fun people. I spent some time with the KESHER Birthright trips in the old city last weekend and with one of the Hillel leadership missions at Ramat Rachel. Adam Rosenwasser (one of my good friends since high school) extended his stay after his Hillel trip and has spent the past week or so following me around. I've loved having him, and he even helped me move back from Haifa with my "bag of death" (possibly one of the biggest, fullest suitcases ever). Further adding to the excitement is Melissa Rosen (a Kutz-ite and one of my closest friends), who also extended her stay and is here until Tuesday night. The apartment feels a little like a youth hostel at the moment, but we're having a blast.

An update to my stateside plans: I will definitely be in Boston from Thursday afternoon January 29th to Sunday morning February 1st. C'mon, you know you want to hang out with me...

In the meantime, I'll be here wandering the city with my various visitors (my mom arrives on Friday!!) and working on writing 35+ pages worth of final papers. Oh, and trying to prepare myself to return to real winter...brrrrr. L'hitraot!
